What kind of wax do you use?
We use a custom blend of soy, coconut, and beeswax in our candles. Our wax melts are made with 100% soy wax. All of our products are paraffin-free.

What are the benefits of soy wax?
Soy wax produces a cleaner, slower burn compared to paraffin wax. Paraffin wax is a by-product of petroleum and releases toxic soot when burned that can blacken walls and irritate the lungs. Some candle users also complain of headaches when burning paraffin candles. Soy is a natural wax that does not contain these toxins and produces minimal soot. Soy wax burns slower than paraffin due to its higher density, so your candles last longer. Our soy wax in biodegradable and grown in the USA. How do you scent your candles? Do you use essential oils?
Many customers ask if we use essential oils to scent our candles. Unfortunately, essential oils are typically unsafe to use in candles because they break down when exposed to high heat. Some essential oils can become toxic when burned or even combust. Essential oils are best used with diffusers, as they don't produce heat.
Instead, we use premium non-toxic fragrance oils specifically formulated for safe use in candles. Our fragrance oils are free from phthalates, carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins, and acute toxins. Our fragrance supplier follows rigorous standards to produce oils that are safe for your home.

What are the wicks made of?
Our wicks are lead-free and made of cotton. They are braided with paper filament for increased rigidity and primed with a natural wax coating.
-
How many hours will the candles burn?
We currently have three candle sizes. Our mini 3.5oz candle burns for approximately 25 hours. The standard 7.5oz burns for approximately 40 hours. The large 13oz candle burns for about 55-60 hours. These times are based on burning in 4 hour increments.

When should I trim the wick?
We recommend trimming the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn, especially if you notice mushrooming (charred black cap forming on top of the wick). Trimming the wick will reduce soot, keep the candle from burning too hot, and help your candle last longer. However, it is important not to trim it too short or it will not burn hot enough to melt the wax to the edge of the jar.
-
How long should I burn my candles?
On your first burn, let the candle burn long enough that the wax melts all the way to the edge of the jar. This may take 2-4 hours depending on the size of the candle. On subsequent burns, we recommend burning for no more than 4 hours at a time.
-
How do I use wax melts? How long do they last?
We recommend using 3-4 melts at a time depending on the size of your warmer. The wax will not burn off and disappear the way it does in a candle. Only the scent will burn off gradually. The fragrance will last approximately 5-10 hours per melt.
Once no fragrance remains, it is time to replace them with fresh melts! After the wax has hardened, we recommend putting your wax melter in the freezer for 30-60 minutes and then the wax should pop out easily.
